Basic rules of Blackjack
There are not too many words on the rules of Blackjack game, since you certainly have played, and probably know how to play well. However, in order to take care of those the novice friends who have not played this game before, I have to replay the old tune tirelessly to talk about the entire system of Blackjack and some prescribed glossaries.
1. Principle:
Before playing the game, the player should be betting on the table (can bet for pairs as well). Then, player would be distributed two cards with faces upward, while the dealer will distribute only a face-upward card for themselves. After the players receive the initial cards, they can choose different strategies to decide how to play the game such hit and double or even split if possible until all players stand the cards. After that, cards will be dealt to the dealer under a specific rule. At the end of one round of game, insurance, and pair betting are paid out. Here, the value of cards in hand should be not excess 21 totally, and ‘bust’ is called when the value is more than 21. The one who is closer to 21 would win the game.
2. Glossary
Blackjack (BJ) an A card and a card valued at 10.
21 more than two cards in hand with total value at 21.
Bust points add up all the cards on hand more than 21 point is called bust.
Standoff both players and the dealer have BJ in hand or the same total value
Hard cards without A in hand or A only be calculated by value 1.
Soft cards with A card in hand and the A card can be valued at 1 or 11.
3. Value calculation:
• 2 to 9 are count as their original face value;
• K, Q, J, and 10 word cards are all valued as 10.
• A can be counted as 1 as well as 11 where value 1 is assigned when a bust is called with the addition of the A card.
4. Comparison of the values
1) If the players get the first two cards with an A and a card valued at 10, you have Blackjack. At this point, if the dealer is not Blackjack, the players will win 1.5 times of the bet (3 to 2); if the dealer has Blackjack, the two sides tie. All others to win: 1 to 1. Of course, some casinos will provide a gambling rules called Even Money when players get the Blackjack and the dealer is dealt with A at the same time, that is, if the player hold BJ and the dealer is A, player can select Even Money to get 1 times the prize of their bets immediately, and give up the chance to win 1.5 times dividend before the dealer shows the second card. This can be though as a disguised form of insurance.
2) Blackjack is greater than any other cards (more than two cards) with total values of 21. It is the trump card in this game. For example, the hand with A and the card of value at 10 is bigger than the cards consisting of 10, 5, 6.
3) If there is no Blackjack, the players can continue to take cards to make the total value to but not more than 21 as close to as possible. Players whose card value below 21 have the right to choose to hit or stand the cards. If more than 21, the player will "bust" and lose the bet. And the dealer must stand on 17 and draw on 16, meaning that if the dealer's total value is equal to or less than 16, he must hit a card until the value excess 17.
5. Hit
During the process of dealing cards, if the total value of the cards is less than 17, then the dealer need to get another card until it reaches 17 or "bust" (more than 21 points). Even some casinos require continuing to take a card when the dealer has soft 17 cards. The players can ask for extra cards after getting the first two cards according to any individual expectation until the cards bust.
6. Stand
Having cards with value of 17 or more, the dealer should stand the cards, which means no more cards are dealt. In addition, when players have dominant cards in hand, they also can demand to stand the cards.
7. Split
If the first two cards the players get are at the same values, you have the opportunity to split one hand into two hands where you can play them separately. The same bet should be put in as original hand for split hands. You can hit the cards as possible as you can to make total value close to 21 with the exception of the "A" pair which only make one hitting for each separated hand (here the A card as count as 11). Each hand split here is operated independently.
8. Double
Players can double or partial double the original bet amount after taking the first two cards if you think you would have the high probability to win the game. If the players choose to double the bet, then they merely can get one additional card for that hand. Besides, players can also double the split hands if there is a good chance to beat the dealer..
9. Insurance
If the first card the dealer get is the A card, players now have the opportunity to bet for insurance where the insurance amount is half of the original bets.
1) If the players choose the insurance:
When dealers get Blackjack, the winning Insurance bet will be paid at odds of 2 to 1.
When dealers don’t get Blackjack, the players lose the insurance bet, and then dealers are required to deal the card and process the card comparison in the same way as normal.
2) If the players do not choose insurance:
When dealers get Blackjack, the original bets are lost unless the player also gets Blackjack.
When dealer do not get Blackjack, the same playing process are conduct as usual.
